Tax Configuration
You now have a lot more freedom to configure taxes for specific scenarios.
Tax Scenarios Part 1:
In the above scenario, we want to apply taxes on a large scale with one outlier. First, we apply taxes to the rate structure that we want to associate them with. This will apply the taxes to every location that is associated with that rate structure. To exclude Particular taxes from a location, we can edit the tax rates on the location directly, and only apply the one's we want.
Tax Scenarios Part 2:
In the above scenario, we want to apply taxes on a one-off basis. To do this, we create a tax, and then instead of applying to the rate structure directly, we first confirm that the rate structure can be taxed by checking the "apply taxes" checkboxes. Then, we apply the tax directly to the location we wish to receive the tax
Rules to Consider:
-
Taxes added to a rate structure will be applied to all associated locations by default if the locations do not have their own taxes applied.
-
If a location and rate structure both have taxes, only the tax rates in common between the two will be applied.
-
If there are no taxes on a rate structure, taxes can be applied on a one-off basis to locations individually
-
For taxes to be able to be applied to a rate structure, the structure must have the associated "Apply taxes" checkbox checked.
