Add a Deposit
Instructions
- Open an the desired account
- Under ... More Options, select + Add Charge / Credit
- In Transaction Type, select Deposit
- Complete the fields, including:
- Amount. The amount of the deposit
- Label. How you want this described to the customer on their next bill
- Comment. Any internal note you'd like to leave
- Click Post
Result
- A deposit gets entered as a charge on the account, which can be paid with a payment.
- Deposit balance will show separately next to account balance.
- You can return the deposit balance any time (see Return a Deposit) or it will be returned automatically when the customer moves out.
