Add a Deposit

Instructions

  1. Open an the desired account
  2. Under ... More Options, select + Add Charge / Credit
  3. In Transaction Type, select Deposit
  4. Complete the fields, including:
    1. Amount. The amount of the deposit
    2. Label. How you want this described to the customer on their next bill
    3. Comment. Any internal note you'd like to leave
  5. Click Post

Result

  • A deposit gets entered as a charge on the account, which can be paid with a payment.
  • Deposit balance will show separately next to account balance.
  • You can return the deposit balance any time (see Return a Deposit) or it will be returned automatically when the customer moves out.
