Generate and Download Delinquency Notices

This guide shows how to create paper delinquency notices, such as past-due letters or door hangers, for the accounts in a delinquency stage. The notices download as a file you can print and mail.

Before you start: the stage needs a Paper Notice set on its rule. Notice templates are uploaded under Settings → Communications → Paper Templates (see How to Create a Paper Notice), then linked to a stage under Settings → Delinquency → Policies → View / edit rules (see How to Add a Delinquency Rule).

Download notices

1. Click Delinquency in the left-hand menu.

2. Click the tab for the stage that sends the notice.

3. Select the accounts. Use the checkbox at the top of the table to select every account in the stage.

4. Click Download Notices in the buttons at the top.

5. Review the notice details in the pop-up. It lists every field in your template. Fields Current can fill in for each account, such as name and balance, are filled in and grayed out. Fields it can't fill are blank, such as a due date you choose each month. Type those in exactly as you want them to appear on the notice.

6. Click Submit. The notices will download and you can save and print.

After you download

The Notice Downloaded column shows which accounts have had a notice created, so you can tell who's already been sent one.

Related settings

Under Settings → Delinquency > Rule edit , a few options change how paper notices work:

  • Use bill template for paper notices: creates notices in the same layout as your bills instead of a separate template. You'll be asked for a Due Date when you download.
  • Generate notice for all contacts: creates a notice for every contact on the account, not just the primary contact.
  • Use Infosend for notices: adds a Send Notices to Infosend button, so Infosend prints and mails the notices for you instead of you downloading them.

To send email, text or voice notices instead, see Sending SMS/Voice/Email from DQ.

Common questions

I don't see Download Notices. The stage's rule doesn't have a paper notice.

Add one under Settings → Delinquency → Policies → View / edit rules.

I got "Enter a valid due date to generate notices." Type the due date in the pop-up as a date, such as 11/15/2026, then click Submit again.

How do I see or change the notice template? Go to Settings → Communications → Paper Templates. Download a template to see it, or edit it to upload a new version. See How to Create a Paper Notice.

Are notices sent automatically? No. Like fees, notices are only created when you click Download Notices (or send them to Infosend).
